Did you burn out your star so brightly? Did you take all the gold from the hills? Did you damage me ever so slightly? Did you clean up from all of those spills? Did you hold me close and whispering, a silence you hear and a song that won't sing? Did you somehow become disenchanted, from seeing your favorite stars? Did you take all your prayers for granted? Did you hit all of your favorite bars? Did you give me lies and suffering? Did you give me your heart when it don't mean a thing? Would you show me the door? I'm ready to go home. Did you take ll the trips you had to, to prove to me that nothing went wrong? Did you tell all of those you been bad to, that nothing was ever so strong as the heart of the darkness that swallowed you in, when you came to me and you hurt me again? Would you show me the door? I'm ready to go home. Temptation calls you up, but this time there's no one around. I'll satisfy your head with images drawn from the sound of your sinister lightening proposals, and your memories of how it was. I will stand here before your disposal and wonder if it was because, of all of the feelings that you helped me to forget, when I didn't know then, and I still don't know yet? Would you show me the door? I'm ready to go home.

There beyond this side of danger, where victory seldom lurks in sight, there is alone the troubled angel, who rides away into the night. She's got no hesitation, when it comes to what she's lost, but there's an expectation she can't bear at any cost. And you sit and wonder how it feels to be so unafraid, you can see the future now, and wonder why you couldn't stay. If loneliness is not the reason for that suspicious look of gloom, the soldiers stand accused of treason every time you leave the room. If there's a face across the nation who can read between the lines, and offer up no explanation as to what he'd hope to find. And you find it hard to get along in a world not figured in to what you thought had seemed so strong, to what you thought was sure to win. So all you distant strangers who come to ride salvation's train, won't you help the troubled angel before she finally goes insane. What's that, you say you don't believe me, the power keeps on shining through, she'd pledge the night, she wouldn't leave me, she'd make a head case out of you. And you sit and you wonder now how it feels to be okay. You can see the future now, and wonder why you couldn't stay. Tim Mann © 2007

Mystery 04:12
If you give me the words I could never describe to you the distance that I feel when you're around. There will never be time to see if it all comes true, to walk another step on hallowed ground. Ooh, you won't get it out of me, yeah, you'll have to wait and see. If you're wondering why I'd be taking the liberty to give you any thought that's in my head, I could start with your smile, or maybe your everything, or maybe I'll just sing these words instead. Ooh, you won't get it out of me, yeah, you'll have to wait and see. I could never ask you to carry me through, to take this living hell and make it shine. Cause it wouldn't be right, no it just ain't the thing to do, and we would never want to cross that line. Ooh, you won't get it out of me, yeah, you'll have to wait and see. Help me think of a way, a way to get through to you. Another lost persuasion from my heart. When the skies have gone grey, will they ever get back to blue? Or will they keep the days and nights apart? Ooh, you won't get it out of me, yeah, you'll have to wait and see. Ooh, it's always a mystery, yeah, you'll have to wait and see.

Thru The Day 04:31
With the sunshine in your face, you still feel out of place, and try so hard to trace where it's coming from May the roots of your disgrace send you through both time and space, and run you through the race to be overcome. A sign from above, what was I 'sposed to do you gave me your love, I handed it back to you Will you see what makes you strong and how it all went wrong, and why it took so long just to find your heart? When the storms break finally free, will you have some history, and try to all you see not to come apart So like it or not, here's what you gotta do take what you got, it's all there inside of you Well we'll see what's going on, we won't stay here that long.. and together we can make it thru the day together we can make it thru the day From the corners of your smile, to your spun glass ocean tile, you're counting every mile till we reach the end.. Will you show me where to stand, when you're dancing in the sand, and nothing goes as planned, and you can't pretend.. To live for the day when it's no longer true so show me the way, I'll do what you want me to.. and we'll see what's going on, we won't stay here that long and together we can make it thru the daytogether we can make it thru the day. There won't be any victory any more, cause all those precious words been aid before. I thought just for a day that you would know the way to my heart. If there's another story left to tell, then I might know the ending rather well. You think it isn't true, you think that maybe you should set the bar. Well I think it's time. I think it's time you went away. I think the time is up for reasons here to stay. So I can't get no rest through this at all, I stumble blind into another fall. I wonder why it is, that it's all come to this in my head. Well I think it's time. I think it's time you went away. I think the time is up for reasons here to stay. You thought you'd understand it in the end, you thought you'd have yourself a lifelong friend. Go on and light the torch, another flame to scorch me to the soul. Well I think it's time. I think it's time you went away. I think the time is up for reasons here to stay. I think it's time you went away from here.

Cafe Girl 03:47
Microcosmic souls crawl out of their holes in the day They all seem to know where the others go along their way Most of what she said went right to my head and my heart Blessed lines of verse took me for the worst from the start No one ever told me of her name, though I felt I knew her all the same Complication thrives, no one ever strives to be here Wretched turns of phrase echo through my days with this fear All the faces seem to be in my dreams in the night Morning still arrives, haunted little lives face the light Will all the emptiness and sorrow still all of the plans I held tomorrow? And when will she return, the lonely girl for all eternity? And will I ever know why she had to go away from me? Tim Mann © 2005

Window Light 02:54
They're working the dead, they're putting the clouds to bed. It's late in the night, but everything's alright. You go your way I'll go mine and we'll get along alright, but don't come around when you see the window light. She's laying it down, but nobody stuck around. She got it locked up, but nobody made a sound. If you can't tel me what you're doing well you know that that's alright, but don't come around when you see the window light. Said what I wanted, but I never got my turn. Said what you had to, said what you thought you'd learned. Now it's been awhile, and I guess I'm doing fine. I'm changing my style, and I'm learning to change my mind. And you and me still get along oh yeah you know that's right. but don't come around when you see the window light. Don't come around when you see the window light.

Can't make it last, it all went by too fast, thoughts inside my head, wrapped up in the past, but then it starts to show, we may never know.. This happened once before, the raging of the storm. Won't you try to see a new reality? There's a light up ahead we may never know And what did you say to end up this way? We may never know. So it's come to this, you may have to go.

Sunset 04:22
Hey, look through the window , it's starting to happen again. The seasons are falling, the days are remembering when.. A glance through the doorway revealing those ghostly sweet sounds..and run through the night with your feet hardly touching the ground.. "The doctor will see you now" echoes from inside his head with voices around him to lead him back into the dead of night.. He stands in the driveway while somebody screams far away, his hands start to tremble and shake while the kids are at play. The future that once stood before him is crumbling down, and all he can hope to do now is to get out of town. Well how many times must I tell you it can't be like this with promises fading and hopes that are shrouded in misery. Another blind alley, another lost stumble and fall, another misfortune, another sad nothing at all. Keep yourself well out of it, and I won't feel so bad. And keep on pretending there's something that you and I had. Don't ever remember the past as it sneaks up behind, and don't shed a tear for the sun as it loses its shine...tonight

Over Here 04:56
What did you ever think that I would ask of you, and what did you ever hope to carry into view? You found yourself a lover, you found yourself a friend, you found another fortune, and a lotta ways to spend. And how could I tell you just exactly what you mean to one who keeps looking for those things he's never seen? And how am I to understand just what there is to do? You ever wanna come around, you know I'll wait for you over here. And what could I tell you that you don't already know? And how can you smile that way and still not let it show? You bought yourself some trouble when you finally made the move, go on and burst the bubble you got nothing left to prove.. It all gets so unraveled, stashed away upon the shelf, and how far can you travel when you're left all by yourself? So go ahead if that's the way you said you're gonna go, you planted all my feelings but you'll never let them grow over here. So if there's no good answer to the questions that I had, then how can you tell me what's no good is not that bad? So stick around and try to see another yesterday, and try to find a reason why you'd ever want to stay over here. Tim Mann
